School Trips 2008/09

March 2009

Monday 16th - Year 4 visited Painshill Park, Cobham.

Hands-on activites helped the children to understand how a waterwheel worked, enabling water to move 'up-hill!' and fill a lake.

The afternoon saw the childrening wandering around the park looking for clues of a treasure hunt, taking in the various points of interest along the way.

A tired but happy Year 4 returned to school at the end of a busy day.

May 2009

Wednesday 6th - Year 4 visited Woking Palace.

As part of their Local History topic this term, Year 4 went along and had a short talk and walk around the remains of Woking Palace.  As you can see from the photos there is not very much left of this historic building, however plans are in place to do more excavations around the site this summer.

The weather was pleasant enough for them to take a stroll through the bluebell wood, where redundant carp ponds can still be seen today.

Wednesday 6th - Reception trip to the Polka Theatre

All the children in Reception went along to the Polka Theatre to see 'The Jolly Postman'.  During the interval ice-creams were handed out as a special treat and as you can see from the photos these went down really well.  They all had a wonderful time and rounded the trip off with a picnic lunch on their return to school.
